About the film
Mexican food culture takes center stage in the exciting documentary THE MICHOACAN FILE, which kicks off the evening’s Mexican party. We delve into the incredible story of how Mexico, in 2010, became the first country in the world to be added to UNESCO’s prestigious World Heritage List. For all lovers of Mexican cuisine, it's not just the delightful dishes we get to explore, nor just the challenges faced in actually getting on the list after much adversity; it’s also an eye-opener to discover how Mexican food culture and ingredients have traveled across large parts of the world over many years.

About the food:
Viva México, Tortas el Tommy og Edens Kaker provides the food service for the evening – a tribute to Mexican food culture! The food will be available for purchase from 18:00, and is not included with the ticket.

About the artists:

Claudette Vigueras & José Louis Garcia
The stage is specially decorated for the evening by artist Lucia Diaz del Castillo, featuring an altar and extensive decorations in true Mexican ceremonial style. The show begins with the duo Vigueras & García, dressed in traditional attire, starting with a prayer and setting the mood for the show!

Vigueras’ use of movement, rhythm, and emotions creates an enchanting experience. García is a Mexican singer and percussionist known for his energetic performances that swing from melancholy to euphoria.

Mariachi Sol de Oslo
The traditional mariachi ensemble offers a musical and visual feast with a total of twelve musicians and dancers on stage! Mariachi Sol de Oslo presents a symphony of genres, inspired by Latin rhythms, bolero, jazz, Mexican music, and global soundscapes. These guys bring life and energy to all occasions, so come and experience the authentic spirit of Mexico with traditional mariachi, original songs, and dancers!

The Latin Touch, Luna Horns Band, and Løren & Refstad School Band
Pop music blended with Latin roots creates the vibrant feeling that The Latin Touch delivers! The multicultural band specializes in live music – and to make the live experience extra special this evening, they are collaborating with Luna Horns Band and Løren & Refstad School Corps!
