Opening of the 34th edition of Films from the South
The winner of the Grand Prix at this year's Cannes Film Festival, All We Imagine as Light, will open the 34th edition of the Films from the South Festival. Director Payal Kapadia has crafted an exquisite and beautiful film that transports you to Mumbai and into a poetic story about the lives of three hardworking nurses in the vast metropolis.
Before the film, we will screen the art project Different Trains, by musician and researcher Tejaswinee Kelkar and visual artist Nikhil Vettukattil. This is an experimental short film with sound poetry that reconstructs the acoustic textures of Mumbai, created specifically for this premiere screening.
After the film, you are warmly invited to continue the celebration with us at BECCO, where DJ Mor Efrony will provide the music.
