Wing Chun

One of the ultimate kung fu movies of the 1990s, served with a good helping of slapstick. This is the film where Michelle Yeoh is on the verge of her big breakthrough, playing the woman who gave her name to one of the classic martial arts techniques. Yim Wing Chun (Yeoh) lives a relatively calm life, her daily challenges consisting of running a tofu shop together with a slugger of an aunt. Suddenly, the beautiful Charmy turns up with a pack of bandits at her heels.
Director Yuen Woo-Ping is the man behind the action sequences in, among other films, the Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill. With Mark Lee Ping-bing behind the camera, its pace comes through impressively. akek
