Yi yi

When I was asked to join, I immediately thought about this film. Yi Yi is to me a really consummate film, a story created to be seen on the big screen. Edward Yang weaves a story that shows the various characters in their lives but also how they influence and parallel each other.

It is also interesting to see how the director and cinematographer relate to the characters. Most of the film is shot in quite large, wide framings from some distance, without losing the intimacy of the scenes. As a cinematographer, this film made an indelible impression on me.
