The Guerilla Son
A heartbreaking documentary about the psychological aftermath of war. Journalist Zanyar Adami has made a deep-going and personal documentary about his relationship to his father, Taher, who was a soldier in the Kurdish guerilla in the beginning of the 1980s. Taher’s attitude towards his past is that it’s better to forget than to recollect. Zanyar is certain that it is his father’s unwillingness to deal with his post-war traumas that has caused his heart condition. When Zanyar finds out that he is about to become a father himself, it becomes more important than ever to get to the bottom of what really happened to Taher and the family back in Iraq. mfe
