A filthy, but beautiful film about political corruption and the fight for justice. A gaping sprawling ruin in the muddy slums of Buenos Aires. Two priests fighting for the rights of the less fortunate. The scenario presented in Pablo Trapero’s last film is not very uplifting. In a shantytown, the enormous skeleton of an unfinished hospital has been a residence for homeless people and a site for violent clashes. Two priests are trying to confront violence with love, but encounter opposition on several levels. cb

Suitable for persons 15 years and older.

Pablo Trapero wrote, directed and edited the short films Mocoso Malcriado (1993) and Negocios (1995) before making his feature debut; the award-winning Crane World (1999). His other films include Rolling Family (2004), Carancho (2010) and White Elephant (2012). The latter was presented in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
