009 Re: Cyborg
Nine people are captured and transformed into cyborgs with enormous powers. But they rebel against their creators in the name of justice. After their efforts facilitate world peace, they disappear from public awareness. Almost thirty years later, skyscrapers worldwide are hit by suicide bombers. The cyborgs gather again to fight against the mysterious evil. But society has changed, as has the idea of justice. So what is the role of the cyborgs now? Director Kenji Kamiyama offers us an epic animation in a grand style, set against an urban background of concrete and metal. There’s even a bizarre but convincing reflection on man's relationship with God. cb
