Epic action movie about the legendary Ip Man. This is not the first time, and definitely not the last time, that Ip Man's life is presented on the big screen. Nevertheless, Wong Kar-wai’s latest movie stands out, and The Grandmaster is probably one of the most beautiful films you will see this year. The action takes place after the fall of China's last dynasty, and the country is chaotic and war-torn. However, this period was also the heyday of Chinese martial arts. Expect advanced choreography and an almost lyrical depiction of this violent theme. cb

Suitable for persons 15 years and older.

Gala screening on Ringen Cinema Friday October 18th at 9 pm. See page 22
