Amazonia (3D)
This is a 3D-screening. Remember your goggles!
The little capuchin monkey Saï is born in captivity, and has worked at a circus his entire life. One day, while being transported from Rio further north, the little plane crashlands in the jungle. He is then forced to survive in the rainforest on his own. On his journey, Saï meets a wonderful cast of several different species. In fact, the roles of extras are handed out to over 5,000 different animal species and 40,000 plant species. Alongside fantastic camera technique and music that underlines the moods of the film, Amazonia is a unusually strong film experience for kids and grown-ups alike. ij
Thierry Ragobert is a French documentary filmmaker. For several years, he worked with French marine officer and filmmaker Jaques Cousteau. In 2013, Amazonia closed the Venice film festival. Apart from Amazonia, Ragobert is perhaps best known for the documentary The White Planet (2006), where he was one of three directors.
