Outrage Coda is the final chapter of the Outrage trilogy, the film series in which actor and director Takeshi Kitano makes a deep dive into the universe of the Japanese yakuza mafia. This last chapter is an unpredictable and stylish gangster thriller.

Five year ago, yakuza boss Otomo survived the gangster war between the Sanno and Hanabishi criminal dynasties. Now he in South Korea, working for Mr. Chang, a well-respected and infamous "fixer" with a reputation that goes far beyond the country's borders. After a minor incident, tension grows between Chang and the Hanabishi clan. The conflict soon spirals out of control and starts an internal power struggle among the Hanabishis. When Chang's life is threatened, Otomo travels back to Japan to set things straight once and for all.

Outrage Coda premiered at the Venice film festival in September and has won a number of awards in Japan.

Takeshi Kitano (b. 1947) is a Japanese actor, filmmaker, artist, and poet, though in his come country he is best known as a comic and TV host. One of his first roles was in Nagisa Oshima's Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence in 1983. Through his own production company Office Kitano he has made a number of gangster and action films that often combine brutality and tenderness. Kitano won the Golden Lion Award in Venice in 1997 for his master piece Hana-bi.
