Alpha – The Right to Kill takes place in the Philippines, where president Duterte's hardline policies against drug use and trafficking has stirred much controversy. Police officer Espino and his SWAT team are trying to track down a local drug lord who is rumoured to be in possession of large amounts of cash and metamphetamine. But after the police have slaughtered down the suspected criminals, the drugs and money are missing, which causes a series of disastrous events that point to widespread corruption within the police force itself. A strong and nerve-wrenching film with a political message.
