I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK
This absurd comedy about grief and eating disorders follows Young-goon, a young girl who has been committed to a mental hospital. She claims not to be ill at all, but rather a cyborg, a man/machine that can charge itself with batteries instead of eating. Young-goon wants to kill her white-clad hospital guardians and escape, but her fellow patient Il-Sun insists on a different path our of the crisis. An astonishing and deeply singular film where the cyborg theme becomes a beautiful metaphor for Young-goon's attempt to survive her own despair.
