September 1st: Verdens kuleste dag
Verdens Kuleste Dag is a festival for children. This year there will be a total of 35 fun activities children and their families can partake in for free. We will be hosting a pop-up cinema screening short films for this event. The festival takes place at Akershus festning in Oslo.

September 14th: Kulturnatt and outdoor cinema
In collaboration with Vega Scene and Arthaus we invite you to a movie night outdoors beside Akerselva. We will be watching Richard Kellys cult hit from 2001, Donnie Darko. We will also bring a few short films as a small warm up for this years Film from the South festival. Gather some friends, bring a warm blanket, something warm to drink and join us.

September 20th: Films from the South at Elvelangs
Take a cultural evening walk! From Frysja to Vaterland you can enjoy a hundred big and small cultural events. The whole trail is lit up with small torches that creates an extra nice setting for the event. We are going to have a small stand here, so drop by and have chat with us about this years Flms from the South.
September 28th: Free outdoor cinema at Schous plass
In collaboration with Deichmanske library, Grünerløkka, we are screening Wild Tales at Schous plass. Bring some friends, warm clothes and something warm to drink.

October 1th: Deadline for volunteer
It´s the deadline for signing up to be a volunteer at the festival. For more click here.
October 16th: Selected tickets for sale
Tickets for selected films from the program, among them the opening- and closing film, are put up for sale. It is also possible to buy Full Festival Tickets and Voucher at Films from the South´s screening places, and at our website.
October 26th: Release party
Vi celebrate that this year’s program (hopefully) has arrived safely from the printer. Come by, pick up a fresh magazine, watch clips from this years films and have a chat with other film enthusiasts about this year’s program!

October 26th: All tickets in sale
At the release party you planned which movies you have to see at this years festival, and now it’s time to buy tickets. All tickets are sold at our screening locations, Klingenberg, Vika and Cinemateket, and of course through our website.
November 8th: The date you have been waiting for!
10 days filled with films from all southern corners of the world. The festival kicks off at November 8th and lasts until November 18th. Have you made a plan for which films you are going to see? We look forward to seeing you at the festival!
